Security Certification on CompTIA+

Security + is a certificate sponsored by CompTIA, an association of computer industry. The + security certificate shows that it is able to apply security concepts, tools and procedures to respond to security-related events and to monitor and protect security threats before they occur. The goal is to test knowledge that is generally considered to be two years of full security experience. CompTIA started offering security + certification in 2002. The course is considered to be one of the most important providers of neutral security for security personnel.

Security Certifications is a independent sector program developed by the CompTIA (Computer Technology Industry Association), so Lockheed Martin, Hitachi Information Systems, Trendmicro, and Department of Business. And Americans like General Dynamics, EDS, Northrop Grumman. CompTIA Security + is one of the authentication options required by the US Department of Defense (DoD) for military personnel or contractors involved in information assurance. According to CompTIA, more than 45,000 have a CompTIA Security + certificate.

CompTIA is a non-profit organization. In the United States and Canada, there are more than 7,500 computer vendors, value-added distributors (VARs), distributors, manufacturers, and training companies. CompTIA members include Apple, Compaq, ATT, IBM, Intel, Microsoft and others.
